My name is Amonn Burns. I am currently a combo guard playing for George Washington Community Highschool out of Indianapolis, Indiana. I am a senior in the class of 2022 and have been playing JV/Varsity basketball team since freshman year. Last year averaged 20 points a game, 2 steals, and 6 assist with a host of rebounds. My identity as a player has been that I play hard on both ends of the court no matter the situation.

I work hard in practices and conditioning sessions to prepare for game play. I am currently and have been an AP honor student throughout high school. I have been on high honor roll all 4 years, won principal honors awards and the highest honors awards possible at my school. Like basketball I take great pride in my classroom performance and always want to represent myself very well. I am interested in studying computer science in college. Basketball has been such a big part of my life. I am a dedicated and hardworking student-athlete who is looking to compete successfully at the highest level of basketball.

Coach Damien JonesI have known Amonn Burns for the last seven years as the head coach of his former AAU program Indiana Elites. From this experience, I can say with confidence that Amonn is a dedicated student-athlete who leads from example and will be an asset to any future team. He has tremendous work ethic determination and drive. As a Junior last year, Amonn played the entire season on a sprained ankle. During the season, Mr. Burns persevered through injury still being tops in scoring and assists. Additionaly he maintaned a 4.0 GPA for the year.

During the three years that I had the privilege of coaching him, Amonn stood out as a leader both on and off the court. He was instrumental to our teams success and has been a captain as long as I have known him. He also volunteered his time at several children basketball camps to encourage younger children to love the game of basketball and the lessons it teaches.
